Showdown: Mustangs vs. Hawks

On Friday night, the first annual Battle for the Torch will take place at Mustang Stadium, on the campus of Rancho Verde High School.  Two of the dominant football programs in the Inland Empire will meet for the first time ever, on August 29 at 7:00pm, as the Rancho Verde Mustangs host the Citrus Hill Hawks.

Track & Field Athletes Advance to Masters Meet

Three RVHS Track & Field athletes have advanced from the CIF Finals meet this past weekend at Cerritos College.  A trio of 3rd place finishes were led by Senior Kayla Hopkins in the disc, Junior Johnnie Young in the triple-jump, and Soph Destiny Longmire in the long-jump.  All three athletes have advanced to the CIF

A herd of Mustangs were recently crowned Inland Valley League Champions at IVL Track Finals.  Rancho Verde Track League Champions are listed below.  Both the Boys and Girls Track teams were also undefeated IVL Team League Champions. CIF Baseball – Mustangs Fall in Extra Innings

The RVHS Baseball team battled Brea Olinda HS for 11 innings, before falling 3-2 in the CIF Wildcard round.  Sophomore Chris Lincoln got the start for Mustangs and went 8 innings, while giving up only 2 runs, walking none, and striking out 9 Wildcats.  Isaiah Viramontes (also a soph) came on in relief to pitch

Mustang Baseball at Brea Olinda in CIF Wild Card Round

The Rancho Verde Baseball team will travel to Brea Olinda HS on Wednesday, 5/21/14 for a CIF Wild Card round matchup at 3:15pm.  The winner of the Wild Card round will face top seeded J. Serra HS on Friday.
