The Rancho Verde Cross Country team kicks off their season tomorrow at the Cool Breeze Invitational at El Prado Golf Course in Chino.  Head Coach Will Winter is looking to build off of last season’s success, and a big part of that should center around returning CIF Qualifier Ray Franco (Soph).  At last years CIF prelims, Ray ran a 16:15 over the 3 mile course, which was good enough to be the 4th fastest freshman in Division 1, and the 7th fastest freshman overall.

Other standouts for the Mustangs early this year have been Jaleel Turner, Lorenzo Orozco, and Steven Rivera on the boys team, and Rebekka Bogan and Ayleen Orduno for the girl’s squad.  Turner and Orozco have been running some great times early in the season, while Rivera balances academics with athletics as a member of the Rancho Verde National Honor Society (NHS).  Bogan and Orduno (both freshmen) have run some great early season time trials (19:24 and 19:25 respectively) for the Mustangs.

Coach Winter is also excited about hosting a meet with Perris HS this year on October 10.  Stay tuned for more info and good luck to all the Mustang Runners this weekend.
