SteinbergThe Rancho Verde Football Program began a new era last spring with the hiring of new Mustang Head Coach Jeff Steinberg.  Coach Steinberg took the head job at Rancho Verde after successful coaching stops at Ridgecrest Burroughs, AB Miller, and Corona Santiago.  Most recently at Santiago, Steinberg compiled a 34-32 record while competing in the Big 8 (versus the likes of Corona Centennial and Norco), one of the top high school football leagues in the state.  Steinberg replaces longtime coach Pete Duffy who went 98-27 in 10 seasons at RVHS.

The Mustangs will find out what they’re made of early on in 2015, playing a very competitive non-league schedule.  Early season matchups include games versus district rival Citrus Hill, defending state champ Redlands East Valley, and playoff semi-finalist Great Oak.  Rancho Verde also looks to rebound from a 2nd place Inland Valley League finish this past season.  The Mustangs were 8-time defending league champs prior to last season’s 2nd place finish to Riverside Poly.

Catch Rancho Verde Football in action August 28, 2015 in the season opener at Citrus Hill High School at 7:00pm.  The Mustangs beat the Hawks 37-34 in last season’s opener on a last second field goal.
